Ronaldo will join Real Madrid after United accepted a world record £80m ($163m) offer for their best player, and will earn £107 million ($A215 million) over six years according to newspaper reports in England.
The deal involves a salary increasing each season, reportedly starting at a mere £183,000 a week before eventually rising to £556,000 a week.
That will mean Ronaldo will earn 33 times the average salary of the average Spaniard
Madrid had already grabbed the headlines by signing fellow former World Player of the Year Kaka from AC Milan, for a $A114.5 million transfer fee.
